Flight Training Overview

As a proud SFA alumna and woman-owned business, HCH Aviation has an exclusive partnership with Stephen F. Austin State University to provide professional pilot training as part of the university aviation flight training initiative. The “Part 141” program training includes a minimum of 260 flight hours where students will earn their PSEL, IFR, & CMEL. Other ratings are available for students to pursue.

Non-collegiate students are welcome too, and we will work with you to meet your desired schedule needs. Whether you are on a fast track to achieving your commercial ratings, seeking a weekend multi-engine course, or simply wanting to learn how to fly, our team stands ready to help you with your goals.

We offer training via the following methods:

• Aircraft
  Students will train in state-of-the-art aircraft. As a “technically advanced aircraft” (TAA), the Piper 100i and Tecnam Sierra MKII fleet have all glass cockpit technology and modern safety features to keep our students safe during their training. Our team currently uses the Tecnam P2006T twin engine for the CMEL training.
• Flight Simulators
  Students will train in state-of-the-art full motion and fixed simulators. Housed on the beautiful Stephen F. Austin State University campus, students will have open access to train anytime they choose. Students can sharpen their skills or prepare for their next flight. All simulators are approved FAA training devices, so their time can be logged.
